Information on the processing of personal data

In accordance with the provisions of Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulations, below you will find detailed information on the processing of personal data on the UB Shop website (general information is provided in the forms through which this data is collected).

Purpose
  • To manage your purchase. 
  • (If you have consented receive the UB Shop newsletter) To manage your subscription.

Lawful basis

Purchases: Your data are collected for the purpose of executing the contract to which you are a party or for applying pre-contractual measures at your request.

Newsletter subscription: Your data are collected for the purpose of managing your subscription on the basis of the express consent you have provided (which may be withdrawn at any time, without retroactive effect). 

Period of storage

Your data will be stored for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to determine any legal responsibilities that may arise.

Data processors

Your data will be available only to the University of Barcelona and the pertinent data processors. In particular, personal data processed for the purpose of managing your purchase will be handled by Shopify International Ltd., based in Ireland, as the UB’s data processor, which may transfer data to Shopify Inc. in Canada, pursuant to European Commission Decision 2002/2/EC of 20 December 2001. Your data may not be transferred to any other third party, except as required by law.

Your rights

You are entitled to access your data, to request the rectification of incorrect data, to request erasure of your data, to object to the processing of your data and to request data portability or the restriction of data processing. Requests should be submitted to the General Secretary’s Office of the University of Barcelona by post (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585, 08007 Barcelona), or by e-mail (secretaria.general@ub.edu), attaching a photocopy of your identity card or passport.

If you consider that adequate provision has not been made for the exercise of your rights, you may contact the University of Barcelona's data protection officer by post (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585, 08007 Barcelona) or by e-mail (protecciodedades@ub.edu).

Controlling authority

Complaints may also be lodged with the Catalan Data Protection Authority.
